The Nigerian Senate has expressed deep sorrow following the death of one of its members, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away on Saturday in London, United Kingdom.

Senator Ubah, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, was set to celebrate his 53rd birthday on September 3.

His passing marks a significant loss for the Anambra South Senatorial District and the entire nation.

  1. Age and Early Life: Ubah passed away at the age of 52 and would have turned 53 on September 3, 2024.

  2. Education: Due to financial constraints, Ubah dropped out of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, to learn trade at a young age. He later attended several local and international business courses and seminars.

  3. Business Ventures: Ubah became an exporter of motor tyres and spare parts in West Africa and expanded his business into Europe, including Belgium and the UK.

  4. Capital Oil: He founded Capital Oil in 2001, which has one of the largest tank farms for petroleum products storage and distribution in Lagos.

  5. The Authority Newspaper: Ubah founded The Authority Newspaper, a daily Nigerian publication, which went live on October 15, 2015.

  6. Football Club: He founded Ifeanyi Ubah F.C., a football club in the Nigeria Premier League, after purchasing it as Gabros International Football Club. He also established the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.
