NLM founder ThisDayMoses vows to press on despite personal attacks

The founder of the Nigeria Liberty Movement (NLM), a political pressure group, Dr. Moses Adebisi, popularly known as ThisDayMoses, has reaffirmed his commitment to humanitarian service despite series of violent attacks against him and his family.

Speaking at the NLM headquarters in Abuja, ThisDayMoses condemned the attacks as politically motivated but vowed to persist in his efforts to address Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges.

On June 20, 2024, Vanguard reported an attack on Adebisi’s apartment on Adewale Falana Street, IVY Home Megamound, in the Ikota area of Lagos. The incident resulted in the destruction of CCTV systems, security wires, a Prado Jeep, a Toyota Hummer bus, doors, and other items, with losses estimated at over N250 million.

Reaffirming his commitment to humanitarian service, ThisDayMoses said, “I am solely dedicated to serving humanity. It is not a sin to stand up for what is right in Nigeria. If this was a politically motivated attack, we will not stop working towards the necessary changes for the country to progress.”

In his book titled “Exposing the Absurdities in Nigeria’s System of Government,” ThisDayMoses has faced government litigation and arrest. On April 20, 2022, hoodlums, political thugs, and miscreants reportedly attacked Adebisi’s parents’ home in Gbongan, Osun State. The incident involved a violent assault on the residence of Prophet Lawrence and Temitope Adebisi.

In another alarming event, on September 9, 2023, Dr. Treasure Adebisi, wife of Dr. Adebisi, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by gunmen in Abuja. The attack occurred around 9:00 PM and sent shockwaves through the capital. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as masked, armed assailants ambushed Dr. Treasure Adebisi, firing multiple shots in her direction. Despite being critically wounded, she survived and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Another source reported that the attack began when assailants stormed the family’s residence under the cover of darkness, armed with weapons. The victims were abruptly awakened by the sound of shattering glass and the shouts of their attackers.

ThisDayMoses has called on the country’s security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the series attacks, affirming that these attempts will not deter him from his mission of serving humanity.
